2.0L inline-4 turbo engine with mild hybrid drive

Mild hybrid electrification advances the 255-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine. A 48-volt Integrated Starter-Generator allows fuel-free coasting, and can recapture energy during deceleration. It can also supply up to 23 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque for added response on demand. And the gasoline engine is further enhanced with a more efficient turbocharger, CAMTRONIC variable valve lift, and friction-reducing CONICSHAPE cylinders with NANOSLIDE walls.

Direct Injection and multispark ignition

Advanced piezoelectric fuel injectors spray fuel directly into each cylinder with exceptionally precise metering, ultrafine atomization and incredibly quick on/off switching speed. Based on the immediate, individual needs of each cylinder's combustion cycle, they can supply the ideal fuel spray at up to 2,900 psi with millisecond speed. Rapid-multispark ignition can fire the fuel mixture up to five times in a single cycle, for stronger and cleaner performance.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system can automatically shut off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. A range of modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) can alter the throttle response, shift points, steering effort, and ECO Start/Stop system. A separate "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.

The GLC continues to advance its role in the Mercedes-Benz SUV family, and its industry segment, with an ideal balance of sportiness and elegance. Its body is wind-carved yet muscle-toned, with a long hood, confident stance, and a high degree of aerodynamic refinement. The Star-centered grille is delicately outlined in chrome, while the LED lighting, side windows and flared fenders all flow into a shape that's sensual yet spacious.

18-inch 10-spoke wheels

Ten spokes are sculpted so the wheel's openings form alternating shapes, for a design that's intriguing yet elegant. Machine-finished surfaces are set off by dark grey inlays. Sized a generous 8 inches wide, the 18-inch alloy wheels are fitted with all-season tires. A minispare offers peace of mind and stows under the cargo floor.

64-color LED ambient lighting

A network of LEDs can create not just a soothing ambience in the cabin, but one you can alter to suit your mood, or even create one. Along with 64 individually selectable colors, variable brightness and three lighting zones, 10 color moods can combine or sequence colors.

Featuring finely stitched leather with sculpted side grips and matte silver trim on its spokes, the standard steering wheel offers a pleasing grip and rich appearance.

MB-Tex upholstery

MB-Tex upholstery offers a rich appearance and supple leather-like feel, even in cold weather. It also offers legendary durability and easy care. Contrasting double topstitching enhances the sporty, tailored appearance of the cockpit.

Versatile cargo area

The GLC SUV can accommodate up to 56.3 cu ft of cargo with the rear seats folded to create a fully carpeted cargo floor. Rear seatbacks can fold in a 40/20/40 split to allow numerous configurations. Even with all the seats occupied, there's room for your golf bags or the results of a substantial grocery run.

USB-C charging ports

State-of-the-art USB-C connectors allow plug-and-play enjoyment from your compatible devices as well as charging of your phone. Providing 15W maximum combined power, they're also suitable for data transfer with the vehicle. One port is provided in the center console, with two more under the front center armrest. A 12V power outlet is also provided at the front of the console.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® can continuously monitor up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Active Brake Assist

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 8 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then help alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist

Active Parking Assist can search for suitable parallel or perpendicular parking spaces to either side as you drive by. Choose a space to pull or back into, and it can expertly shift, steer and brake for you. When it's time to leave, it can also steer you back out. In any low-speed maneuver, PARKTRONIC sensors in the front and rear bumpers help detect nearby objects within their field of view. Audible signals and illuminated displays in the cabin help you navigate tight spaces with confidence.
