AMG-enhanced 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine with hybrid assist

The seamless power and natural balance of an inline-6 have returned with another Mercedes-AMG tradition: a technological leap forward. The lightweight, fully beltless engine is also electrified: An Integrated Starter-Generator can supply up to 21 hp and 184 lb-ft at certain rpm, allow gas-free coasting, and recapture energy during deceleration. With a twin-scroll turbo, the gas engine outputs 429 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque on its own, for quick, efficient response.

Hybrid Integrated Starter-Generator

Electrifying the inline-6 gasoline engine is an innovative Integrated Starter-Generator. It teams with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery to supply power for formerly belt-driven components like the water pump and air-conditioning compressor. These advancements help reduce weight and enhance underhood packaging. In addition, the electric assist can generate additional, gas-free power and torque for immediate response.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed transmission

Specific AMG programming of the 9-speed automatic transmission delivers quicker gear changes in the paddle-shifted Manual mode. In the Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, the wide range of closely spaced ratios offers an ideal blend of smooth, efficient performance in virtually every driving situation, from relaxed cruising to quick acceleration. Three overdrive ratios further enhance highway fuel efficiency.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for quick acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

Supersport can show extensive performance info, including a racing-inspired upshift prompt for the manual shift mode. Other data can include a warm-up menu, graphical G-force meter, and key engine info including hp/torque output and fluid temperatures.

Ventilated front seats

Heated and ventilated seats are a luxury you'll soon consider a necessity. Three levels of heating and cooling ventilation are offered. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, the seats help keep you cooler and your clothes drier during warmer months. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating features together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.

Biometric authentication

You can personalize up to 800 vehicle settings, from music programming to seat comfort, and save them in any of seven user profiles. Features can even be set up via the Mercedes me connect mobile app, when you're away from the car. Your Mercedes me connect PIN identifies your profile, or you can use a built-in fingerprint reader below the central touchscreen. The system can also recognize your voice. Profiles can even be used in multiple cars.

Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX)

The Mercedes-Benz User Experience is a breakthrough in automobile cockpit control that keeps advancing. MBUX integrates digital displays including a touchscreen, touch-sensitive controls, and an intuitive, intelligent voice control system that can respond to your natural voice, learn your habits, and grow smarter over time. If an air bag or seat-belt Emergency Tensioning Device deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This reassuring service is provided as standard equipment in the vehicle, no matter who's driving.

Active Brake Assist

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also help detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.
