Smooth, powerful and encapsulated for even quieter operation, the dual electric motors can deliver 649 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The front and rear "permanently excited synchronous motors" (PSMs) feature permanent magnets to generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. DYNAMIC SELECT

DYNAMIC SELECT lets you transform the car's character with the touch of a single button. It offers four preset modes: ECO, Sport, OFFROAD, and an exclusive Maybach mode. Each adapts the drivetrain response, steering effort, and AIRMATIC^® suspension. Maybach mode emphasizes comfort for the rear passengers by minimizing body motion under the rear seats, and is the default setting. There's also an Individual mode you can personalize.

OFFROAD menu and "Transparent Hood" display

An OFFROAD menu in the multimedia display can show your steering angle, tilt angle, grade percentage and more. And a clever virtual "Transparent Hood" feature can compose views from the exterior cameras on the display, to show underneath the vehicle at speeds to 5 mph, and the view ahead up to 12 mph.

Advanced 107.8-kWh EV battery

A new generation of battery technology offers significantly higher energy density. The high-voltage battery's energy content of nearly 108 kWh is managed by innovative software, developed by Mercedes-Benz, that can be updated over the air, without a dealer visit, to help maintain its performance throughout its long lifespan.

Panorama roof

Offering sweeping skyward views to front- and rear-seat passengers, this fully functional glass sunroof features a front panel that can either tilt up for ventilation or slide over the rear panel for an open-air feeling. Dual interior power shades allow occupants to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the cabin. A 50% larger viewing area lets passengers enjoy a greater view of the sun and stars.

LED DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps w/lightband

Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, active LED headlamps can generate light that's perceived much like natural daylight. Along with Active Curve Illumination and Ultra Wide Highbeams, DIGITAL LIGHT technology can project visual alerts into the driver's view. A variety of icons can appear on the illuminated roadway, to help alert you to vehicles in your blind spot, pedestrians, or lane drift.

5-seat cabin configuration

The spacious Maybach EQS offers a choice of rear seating configurations. The standard 3-passenger rear seat offers outboard occupants numerous comfort amenities, along with room for a center passenger. When seating only one or two, the wide, edge-lit center armrest provides storage, cupholders, and a docking MBUX tablet. A fixed partition divides the cabin and cargo compartment.

Biometric authentication

You can personalize up to 800 vehicle settings, from music programming to seat comfort, and save them in any of seven user profiles. Features can even be set up via the Mercedes me connect mobile app, when you're away from the car. Your Mercedes me connect PIN identifies your profile, or you can use a built-in fingerprint reader below the central touchscreen. The system can also recognize your voice, and with the MBUX Hyperscreen, your face. Profiles can even be used in multiple cars.

Front- and rear-cabin wireless charging

Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology allows wireless charging of a compatible phone or other device that supports the Qi standard. Inductive charging trays in the front-cabin console and rear center armrest let you or your passengers charge your device's battery while you drive without plugging it in.

Burmester High-End 4D Surround Sound system

Raising the pinnacle of automotive audio, the Burmester^® 4D system features seat-integrated resonators that help you feel surround sound in new dimensions. Analog-digital amps deliver 790 total watts via 15 high-end speakers, including two 3D speakers in the ceiling and dual subwoofers in the luggage area cover. 4D sound can also be enjoyed via headphones at any passenger position. EV Sound features integrate with the Maybach EQS Sound Experience.

MBUX Augmented Reality Head-Up Display

The Head-Up Display projects a virtual image that looks to be "floating" some 30 feet in front of the windshield at a perceived size of 77 inches. The high-resolution readout places useful information in the driver's natural field of vision, with minimal "eyes off the road." The full-color graphical display can show driving speed, cruise settings and more. Navigation instructions can virtually blend seamlessly with reality, helping identify turns with moving arrows that appear to be directly on the road.

Rear-cabin MBUX tablet

A fully functional tablet can be used in the cabin for a variety of MBUX features, or outside the vehicle on its own. The tablet docks in the rear center armrest for charging and convenient in-car use.

Active Blind Spot Assist

At most driving speeds, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area on either side of you, and alert you by illuminating an icon in the appropriate side mirror. If you activate a turn signal while a vehicle is detected, it can sound a warning tone while flashing the mirror icon. And if you begin to change lanes, advanced active technology can help guide the car back by selectively braking individual wheels while a display appears in the instrument cluster.

Extended Restart in Stop-and-Go Traffic

When using Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC^® cruise control in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle can normally resume automatically when traffic moves if the pause is less than three seconds. This innovative enhancement can help sense some traffic conditions that require longer pauses, and extend this interval to up to 60 seconds, to make driving in traffic easier and less stressful. If the pause is longer, the driver need only tap the resume button or accelerator pedal to proceed.

9 air bags

An advanced system of 9 air bags offers 11-way occupant protection. There are dual two-stage front air bags, a driver’s knee air bag, front and rear side-impact air bags, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.

PRE-SAFE Sound

An important enhancement to the industry-first PRE-SAFE^® system can help reduce the effects of a collision on occupants' hearing. When the sensors of PRE-SAFE detect an impending impact, it can emit a special "pink noise" tone via the audio system just before the collision. The tone's frequency is tuned to pre-trigger a natural reflex within the human ear canal that helps shut out loud noises in advance of the actual impact.
