AMG-enhanced 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine with hybrid assist

A 302-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine features numerous AMG enhancements for instant response. Rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection team with a liquid-cooled turbo to put its 295 lb-ft of torque on tap at just 3,000 rpm, and deliver 60 mph just 5.1 seconds. New 48-volt architecture and a belt-driven Starter-Generator can supply up to 13 hp for added response on demand. Beneath its red-striped engine cover, a lightweight diecast-alloy block, variable valve timing and reduced friction further raise efficiency and performance.

Hybrid Starter-Generator

Electrifying the handcrafted inline-4 gasoline engine is an innovative belt-driven Starter-Generator (RSG). It can generate a brief burst of 13 additional, gas-free horsepower, for even more enthusiastic yet efficient response. It also teams with the car's 48-volt electrical architecture to support gliding, recuperation and stop/start functions to seamlessly enhance efficiency.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8-speed dual-clutch transmission

The aggressively geared 8-speed DCT combines racing-derived dual-clutch design with AMG SPEEDSHIFT^® technology. Able to change gears faster than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, its shift paddles and rev-matched downshifts provide instant response. In addition to a Manual mode, the various modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT offer distinctive accelerator and gearshifting characteristics. Carbon fiber friction linings optimize the response and durability of its fast-acting synchros.

4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS)

4MATIC all-wheel drive incorporates our 4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS^®), which monitors for the first sign of wheel slip and can respond to ensure torque is sent to the wheels with the best grip, even if that's only one wheel.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 5 microns from entering the cabin. Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.

Power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents

A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting outlines the dash/door trim and console, while casting a glow in the dash vents, footwells, door handles and door pockets. Along with 64 selectable colors, three cabin zones and adjustable brightness, numerous programs let you enjoy two colors at once, and either static or slowly changing hues. A "light show" greets your arrival, while the dash vent lighting briefly acknowledges your climate-control adjustments.

4-way manually adjustable steering column

Adaptive Highbeam Assist

Adaptive Highbeam Assist can automatically activate the high beams when camera technology detects there are no vehicles within range ahead of you.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Adaptive braking technology

Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying can periodically apply the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist can help prevent unwanted rollback. And a brake HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.
