AMG RIDE CONTROL+

Based on AIRMATIC^®, an advanced, lightweight adaptive air suspension responds skillfully to the demands of city streets, winding roads and rugged surfaces. AMG-calibrated sensors and pressurized air spring-struts can respond within milliseconds to conditions. It can also self-lower at speed to further enhance stability and efficiency, or can be raised by up to 2.2 inches for deep ruts or steep approaches. Versatile modes range from Comfort to Sport+, as well as Trail and Sand modes.

AMG High-performance Braking System w/red calipers

Using principles proven in racing, the braking components are engineered for enduring stopping power in high-performance driving. Compound front rotors are designed to provide excellent heat dissipation and dimensional stability at the extreme temperatures generated in high-performance driving. Big 15.7-inch front discs are grasped by powerful 6-piston fixed calipers. The one-piece rear discs measure 14.6 inches. The calipers are finished with red paint and AMG logos.

AMG Performance Exhaust System

Two additional internal flaps near the tailpipes let the driver escalate its sound at the push of a button, either directly or via the modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT. The system's free-flow design delivers an audible celebration of power with every upshift, downshift and rev. Computer-control of the flaps base their operation on engine speed and load, to assure full power delivery regardless of the "audio" output.

Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine with hybrid assist

The acclaimed AMG biturbo V8 propels performance into a new era again. Generating 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque from a modest 4.0 liters, it can rush to 60 in 4.1 seconds and deliver swift response at any speed. Its "hot inside V" turbo location cuts lag and losses. An electric Integrated Starter-Generator can efficiently add gas-free torque. AMG Cylinder Management can seamlessly deactivate four cylinders. Yet even with its advancements, each V8 is still hand-built and signed by its own craftsman.

21-inch AMG 10-spoke wheels

Aerodynamically enhanced 21-inch AMG^® alloy wheels feature a machine-polished silver finish and 10 ultrathin spokes. Inlays are painted titanium silver, while high-performance tires are sized 275/50R21. A collapsible spare tire is also provided.

AMG logos illuminate in a soft white glow as you open a door, to welcome you into the cabin or ease your exit.

7-seat cabin configuration

Offering first-class comfort in all three rows has long been a hallmark of the GLS, a benefit of its spacious size and advanced suspension. The redesigned cabin enhances comfort for all aboard: The second row features standard power seats, increased legroom, and 40/20/40-split folding seatbacks. The third row offers room for two adults, along with enhanced luxuries from climate to cupholders to charging ports. It also power-folds in a 50/50 split to increase cargo space.

Retractable luggage cover

A retractable cover helps shield your cargo or shopping bags from sunlight and prying eyes. The cover is retractable with one hand, or can be removed entirely and stowed under the cargo floor, for maximum cargo space with the seats folded.

12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia display

A widescreen color display with multitouch interface makes it easy to access a world of features, including audio, MB Navigation, phone and vehicle settings. In addition to the three input methods of the standard screen (touchscreen, console touchpad, and Touch Control steering wheel), it also responds to the advanced voice control you activate by saying "Hey, Mercedes." Predictive features can learn and anticipate your commands, while you can save groups of settings as themes and moods.

Soft-close doors

Automatic assist mechanisms quietly and graciously finish closing the doors for you or your passengers. Just bring the door to its latch, and the closing assist gently snugs it to its fully closed position.

KEYLESS-GO

A leap in ease and efficiency pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, KEYLESS-GO^® lets you unlock, start and drive away without removing the SmartKey from your pocket or purse. You can lock and unlock the doors with a touch of the exterior handles, and start the engine by stepping on the brake pedal and pushing the Start/Stop button on the dashboard.

Heated 2nd-row seats

Electrically heated 2nd-row seats offer soothing warmth with individualized comfort. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes, while automatic shutoff means the driver need not worry if the passengers forget to turn them off. Heating is provided for the outboard positions with the 7-passenger configuration, or for each 2nd-row seat in the 6-passenger setup.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Exit Warning Assist

Exit Warning Assist employs the technology of Blind Spot Assist for a brief period after parking. It can alert the driver or passengers to approaching vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could create a risk if the door is opened.

Active Stop-and-Go Assist

This system enables the vehicle to recognize when you're approaching a traffic jam earlier while using Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC^® cruise control. The system then actively supports you in negotiating the stop-and-go driving at speeds up to 37 mph, with stops of up to a minute, to make it easier and less stressful.

PRE-SAFE PLUS

An enhancement to the groundbreaking PRE-SAFE^® system can help protect the occupants in a rear-end collision. A radar sensor in the rear bumper can help detect an impending impact, and engage the features of PRE-SAFE to better prepare the front-seat occupants and their restraint systems. It can also firmly apply and hold the brakes, to help reduce peak loads on all occupants as well as the risk of a secondary collision.
